The downtown

The De Benci bed and breakfast is located in the historical center in Florence, 19 Via De Benci, a few meters from Piazza Santra Croce.

Conveniently located just 5 minutes walk from the Palazzo della Signoria and the Uffizi Gallery, De Benci b&b is the ideal base to stay for business, for a vacation, to do research at the National Library, to attend a of the many events / exhibitions held in Piazza Santa Croce, or to attend a show at the Verdi or Pergola theatres, or to visit the magnificent Museum of the Bargello or the Accademia Gallery (to name just some of the most famous).

Our rooms can be the right place for every need.

How to reach us

We highly recommend to use the interactive map and its tools ( Directions, Street view ) to plan the route well and find the exact location of the bed and breakfast before your arrival.

Losing a few minutes to study or print a map and directions to get there first makes the trip much easier and shorter.

If the interactive map does not appear the page is not displayed correctly. Try refreshing the page by clicking here.

Below you can find some tips on how to reach us..

  • By airplane
    • If you land at Amerigo Vespucci airport in Peretola, Florence, we suggest to take a taxi.
    • If you land at Galileo Galilei airport in Pisa, you can reach Florence by train: there is a small railway station (Pisa AE) right within the airport. To reach us from the railway station read the following paragraph.
  • By train
    • The Railway Station of Santa Maria Novella (SMN) is about 1400 meters / 4000 feet from the b&b. If you have light luggage you can get there on foot, passing through the characteristic streets of Florence.
    • Alternatively a taxi is the most practical and fast solution.
    • If you arrive at the Railway Station of Firenze Campo di Marte (CM) or Firenze Rifredi one you have to take a taxi
  • By car
    • Exit A1 motorway at the Firenze Sud toll and follow the direction to the city centre / down town. Nearby Piazza Beccaria, Ponte San Niccolò or Lungarno della Zecca Vecchia go to Biblioteca Nazionale (Piazza dei Cavalleggeri), then go on along Corso dei Tintori. At the traffic light turn on the right and you will be on via De Benci. After 120 m / 340 ft, in the most tight part of the road you find on the left side the big wooden door (see picture), about 30 m / 85 ft before piazza Santa Croce.
  • GPS
    • If you are using a GPS navigator (Global Positioning System, like Garmin®, TomTom® or something similar), you may insert the Geographic coordinates in your device: latitude 43.768777 N, longitude 11.260128 E
    • Otherwise you can set via De Benci as destination, just consider the number 19 is not in the place your device shows. If your device does not recognize via De Benci, you can directly enter Piazza Santa Croce, as the bed and breakfast is located about 30 m / 85 ft before the square.
  • Garage

  • Parking in allowed zones
    • Anyway it is possible to park outside the ZTL (restricted traffic zone, very close to the b&b) on blue signs only, along Lungarno della Zecca Vecchia with parking meters (paid through parking meters on working days).
